Our method
From idea to scale
A structured five-phase journey, from requirements definition to production and beyond.
Explore
From idea to requirements.
We define goals, technical and market constraints together, turning a need into clear specifications before any code is written or any circuit is drawn.
Prototype
Validate fast, fail early.
We build functional prototypes to test assumptions in the field, reducing risk before committing to full engineering.
Engineer
From prototype to production-ready design.
We consolidate hardware, firmware and software into a robust, documented design, ready for the regulatory checks of its target sector.
Industrialize
Production-ready.
We prepare the product for volume manufacturing: bill of materials, test processes and quality control for a smooth transition to production.
Scale
Growing over time.
We support the product throughout its lifecycle, managing volumes, revisions and supply continuity as demand grows.

Why DAOS
Four reasons, why clients stay.
We don't offer the best price. We offer IP ownership to the client, a single point of contact, active certifications and manufacturing verifiable 500 meters from our offices.
IP remains with the client
Code, firmware, PCB, mechanics: everything stays with the client. Freedom to produce in-house, outsource, or continue development internally.
A single point of contact
R&D, design, manufacturing, logistics under one roof. A single team responsible from concept to finished product.
Active certifications
ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 (medical devices). In-house EMC pre-compliance. CE/FCC certification through accredited partners.
In-house manufacturing
3 Juki SMT lines, THT department, 3D AOI and X-ray inspection in Milan. Volumes from prototypes to mass production, no anonymous subcontractors.
Certifications
Certifications, in full.

Since 1969
Six decades of Italian electronics
The story begins with Procustom in 1969, then Eureka in 1996 when the term 'embedded' didn't yet exist. DAOS was founded in 2010, consolidating the group's experience. Fusel joined in 2022, adding manufacturing capacity. Today we work with STMicroelectronics as System Partner, Telit Cinterion since 2016, Microchip as Design Partner since 2023.

The questions we get most often.
Who owns the intellectual property of the project?
The client. Code, firmware, PCB schematics, mechanics and documentation remain the client's property at every stage. DAOS does not claim rights on the work done nor tie the client to in-house production: if tomorrow you decide to produce elsewhere or continue development internally, you are free to do so.
What minimum production volumes do you accept?
From pilot runs (10-100 units) to mass production in the range of hundreds of thousands of pieces per year. No rigid minimum volumes: each case is evaluated based on complexity, required SMT/THT technology, and timing.
Can you certify a class IIa or higher medical device?
Yes. We are ISO 13485 certified and regularly work on medical devices. Final MDR certification of the device is obtained through accredited bodies we collaborate with. We handle technical documentation, technical file and audit support on behalf of the manufacturer client.
Which microcontrollers does the firmware team support?
STMicroelectronics STM32 families (official System Partner), Microchip PIC and SAM (Design Partner since 2023), NXP, Nordic nRF for BLE applications, Espressif ESP32 for IoT, Telit for cellular. Linux embedded on i.MX and STM32MP SoCs.
How long does a project typically take from concept to working prototype?
For a device of medium complexity, 3-6 months for the first tested prototype. For devices with medical or automotive certification constraints, 6-12 months. Timing is defined after an initial phase of requirements analysis and feasibility validation.
